Welcome, friend! If you’re feeling a little (or a lot) overwhelmed by the joys and challenges of homemaking, you’ve come to the right place. Consider The Homemaker’s Cottage your breath of fresh air, your virtual cozy corner where you can kick off your shoes (metaphorically, of course – unless you actually want to kick off your shoes, then by all means, kick away!), and just be you.
I’m Amanda, and I started this little corner of the internet back in 2014 because, well, let’s be honest, homemaking can be hard. Whether it’s your first time navigating the world of homemaking as a newlywed (like I was back then), navigating this with kids, or navigating the single life, trying to figure out this whole “running a household” thing can be overwhelming, and let’s just say there were a few (okay, maybe more than a few) moments of sheer panic. Now, happily married to my second husband, I’m even more passionate about sharing what I’ve learned and creating a supportive community. I wished I had someone to share tips and tricks with, a place where I could find support without the pressure of perfection. So, I created it!

Fast forward to today, and I’m a mama to two little ones (a 3-year-old and a 5-month-old – send sleep!), and I’ve been through the wringer of pretty much every stage of homemaking life: working single homemaker, working wife, work-from-home mom, and now, stay-at-home mom. Each stage brings its own unique set of challenges (and joys!), but one thing remains constant: the desire to create a warm and inviting home for our families.

Here at The Homemaker’s Cottage, you won’t find perfectly curated Pinterest boards or unrealistic expectations. We’re all about real life, real messes, and real grace. Because let’s face it, nobody’s perfect (and if they say they are, they’re probably hiding something!). This is a judgment-free zone where we embrace our imperfections, learn from our mistakes, and cheer each other on.
Whether you’re a seasoned homemaker or just starting out on this journey, I hope you find something here that inspires you, encourages you, and makes your life a little bit easier. Think of me as your friend and fellow traveler on this crazy, beautiful road called homemaking.
