Grace, Growth, and Baby Drool
Welcome, dear friend! How good it is to have you back at the blog. It feels like a breath of fresh air to be writing to you again—like reconnecting with a pen pal I’ve lost touch with. But boy howdy, has life been busy. Since I last posted, I’ve welcomed another sweet baby! A little girl this time, and she is full of energy. She’s currently eight months old and teething like crazy!
And we can’t forget my sweet boy, who’s now three! Chasing after these two and remembering to eat once in a while has definitely kept me on my toes.
Life Lately in the Cottage
Life since “Sissy” joined the mix has been a whirlwind. I’d forgotten that routines with babies change every few weeks. Just when you get comfortable and find a rhythm—it all shifts again. And to be honest? That alone is exhausting! But amidst it all, I’m constantly trying to grow as a daughter of God, wife, mother, and homemaker. I’m adjusting, evolving, and learning with each new moment and milestone.
Right now, we’re transitioning “Bubba” from naps to “quiet time” (which, let’s be real, isn’t very quiet lately), and helping Sissy go from contact naps with Mama to scheduled naps in her crib. It’s been a huge help for her sleep—and gives me a little time to breathe—though I do miss those cuddles terribly. That girl is growing up so fast! The dishes and laundry still pile up, but at least the family is fed and wearing clothes (well, minus the three-year-old sometimes—ha!).
On Privacy and Sharing
While I’m happy to share bits of my motherhood journey here and there, I’ve made the decision to protect some of the more personal parts of our lives. Moving forward, I won’t be sharing names or pictures of my children on the blog or social media. This choice comes from a place of love and intention—not because I don’t want to let you in, but because I want to steward their privacy well. I hope you’ll understand and support that decision. My stories will still be personal and real—just with fewer identifying details. I know my children will thank me for it one day, too.
What’s Next for The Homemaker’s Cottage
With all these life changes, it’s no surprise that the blog had to take a back seat for a while—but I’ve been feeling that familiar tug to return. While I never planned to take such a long break, being a mother and homemaker is God’s biggest calling for me in this season—and I’ve had to give it my full attention.
That said, The Homemaker’s Cottage is still very close to my heart, and I feel excited to step back into it. Now that my little ones are growing, I’m hoping to dedicate time for one blog post each month. This will help the blog continue to grow—slowly, steadily, and faithfully.
Alongside these posts, I also plan to revive the monthly newsletter, where I’ll share the latest blog post and other bits of encouragement or inspiration I’ve picked up along the way.
Facebook Group + Daily Encouragement
I also want to keep pouring into The Homemaker’s Corner, our Facebook group, which has been such a gift. I’d been posting daily until about a month ago when my computer died (she lives again—praise the Lord!). I’ll be restarting those posts this week, bringing you daily encouragement to stay grounded in your homemaking routines while still caring for yourself and your family.
What You Can Expect Moving Forward
So, what will these monthly blog posts look like? You can expect the same old me—real-life homemaking tips, faith-filled reflections, motherhood moments, encouragement for weary hearts, and grace-filled growth. This is still a space for real women, with real messes, and real faith—not a Pinterest-perfect life.
Thank You for Being Here
If you’ve made it this far, know how much I appreciate you. I’m so grateful for the faith and love you bring to this little community. I encourage you to stay connected through our Facebook group or sign up for the newsletter so you never miss an update.
This little cottage is built on faith, grace, and hope—and there’s always room for you here.
Thank you for sticking with me through life’s ups and downs. I hope and pray that you’re feeling held, seen, and loved by our God and Father.
With grace and warmth,

Hello! I'm Amanda Elizabeth, creator of The Homemaker's Cottage. As a homemaker I have constantly felt the pull between old fashioned homemaking and the fast paced world we live in today. So I created The Homemaker's Cottage: a stress-free space between the old in the new, where there is no judgement and we can learn that homemaking can be relevant, easy and even enjoyable.
Join me on this journey to serve God, your family, and begin homemaking from where you are.
